As a child I would look
through the frosty glass
eyes wide
with wonderment.
Snow had fallen
soft and quiet
like balls of cotton
A magical time.
I am an old man now,
but
I still look out
with my face
on cold glass
in winter
and gaze at the snow
in wide eyes wonderment.
It’s so peaceful to look at

Actually we never really grow old. It’s just something about numbers and biological changes but otherwise we all have that child in our hearts waiting to come out.

It always amazes me the way snow can transform the world overnight. And whenever it does, I’m suddenly 8 years old again for a little time.

It is beautiful, although the cold can be brutal.
